Hello friends, welcome to Smooth Recipe. Today we are going to make Barbeque Seitan and Black Bean Burritos.

This is a very easy, hearty meal for a complete family or dinner party; burrito also freezes very well!

Burritos are great served with salsa and sour cream! Remember, habanero chile peppers are extremely hot! So you might only need half of one to generate the enough heat for your tastes! Be careful when you chop the habanero chile, remember to use the gloves!

Ingredients for Making Barbeque Seitan and Black Bean Burritos

  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 5 green chopped onions
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 seeded and minced habanero peppers
  • 1 chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 ½ (8 ounce) packages of seitan
  • One (15 ounce) can of black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can of diced tomatoes
  • 3 cups of cooked white rice
  • 3 tablespoons of chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 (18 ounce) of bottle barbecue sauce
  • 10 (10 inch) of flour tortillas

How to Make Barbeque Seitan and Black Bean Burritos

  1. First of all, in a large saucepan heat the oil over medium-high flame and saute green onions, yellow onion, habanero, garlic, and bell pepper until the onions become translucent. And then add seitan & saute another 5-6 minutes. Add tomatoes and black beans. Heat through.
  2. Now in a medium size mixing bowl combine the heated mixture with cooked rice, cilantro, and 1 cup of barbecue sauce.
  3. After that lay tortillas on the flat surface. Spoon about 3/4 cup of the filling onto each tortilla’s center. Wrap the tortilla so that the mixture is captured on the inside.
  4. In the end, in a casserole dish pour the barbecue sauce to coat the bottom of the dish. Place the burritos in dish and pour more barbecue sauce on the top of them. Now bake in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 35-38 minutes.
