Hello friends,of Smooth Recipe. Today we are going to make Chicken tagine. An Simple one-pots. This chicken tagine is great eaten with for example couscous for something a bit more filling.

Chicken tagine

  • 8 skinless chicken thighs, if they are large cut them a little smaller
  • 400g carrot, cut into sticks
  • pinch saffron or tumeric
  • small bunch parsley, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoons honey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh root ginger
  • lemon wedges, to serve

Directions for making Chicken tagine

Heat the oil in a large, wide pan with a lid. Then add the chicken and fry quickly until lightly colored. Add the onion and ginger and cook for a further 2 minutes. Add 150 ml of water, the saffron, honey and carrots, season and stir well. Then bring to a boil, cover tightly and simmer for 30 minutes until chicken is cooked through. Cover the pan and increase the heat for about 5 minutes to allow the sauce to set in slightly. Finally, sprinkle with parsley and serve with lemon wedges. The lemon wedges are for squeezing over. Enjoy your meal!
