Miso Soup

Hello friends, welcome to Smooth Recipe. Today we are going to make Miso Soup.

I am personally a very big fan of this delicious miso soup. This one is fairly straight forward with the ingredients that are easy to find at any home kitchen. Plus, it tastes very delicious. If you prefer, you can replace the spinach with the bok choy.

Seafood Chowder

Ingredients for Making Seafood Chowder

  • 2 ¼ cups of water
  • 2 ounces of firm tofu, cut into 1/4 inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon of light miso paste
  • 2 teaspoons of barley miso paste
  • ½ cup of fresh spinach, washed and chopped
  • 1 green thinly sliced onion

How to Make Seafood Chowder

  1. First of all, in the medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Ladle out about 1/2 cup of the boiling water, and reserve. Add then tofu.
  2. After that reduce the heat to medium flame, cover, and cook for 1-2 minutes only. Add bok choy or spinach; simmer about 1-2 minutes only, or until the greens are tender. Remove the soup from heat.
  3. In the end, blend barley miso and white miso into reserved hot water. Stir it into soup. Ladle into the bowls, and garnish with the scallion. Serve it immediately.
