  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 stalks of chopped celery
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 cloves of minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes
  • Salt as per your taste
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can of chicken broth
  • 2 medium whole (2-3/5″ dia) (blank)s of medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) can of tomato sauce
  • ½ cup of uncooked spinach pasta
  • 1 (15 ounce) can of cannellini beans, with liquid

How to Make Pasta Fagioli – Pasta & Fagioli – Pasta e Fagio

  1. First of all, heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium flame heat. Cook celery, red pepper flakes, garlic, parsley, onion, Italian seasoning, and salt in the hot oil until the onion is translucent, for about 5 minutes.
  2. Now stir in chicken broth, tomatoes and tomato sauce, and put simmer on low for 15-20 minutes.
  3. After that, add pasta and cook for 10 minutes, until the pasta is tender.
  4. In the end, add undrained beans and mix them well. Heat through. Serve with the grated Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and enjoy.
