Peppermint Twist Cake Recipe

Ingredients for Peppermint Twist Cake
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1-1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of softened butter or margarine
- 1-1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 cup of crushed peppermint candies
Ingredients for Frosting
- 1/2 cup of butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup of shortening
- 3 cups of powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons of clear vanilla
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 1/2 cup of crushed peppermint candies
How to Make Peppermint Twist Cake
- Preheat oven to the 350 F.
- Grease & flour a 9 inches round pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix the sugar and cream until it become creamy smooth.
- After that add the eggs slowly and beat them until blended.
- Now stir in the peppermint and vanilla extract.
- Now in a separate bowl, mix the baking powder, flour, and baking soda. After that add to the wet mixture until the batter is getting smooth.
- And then fold the peppermint candies into the mixture.
- Now Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake in 350 F oven temperature for 30 to 35 minutes.
- After that you can cool the cake in pan.
Directions for Frosting
- Mix the shortening, sugar, and butter until it become creamy smooth.
- And then add vanilla and mix them properly.
- Add the powdered sugar, mixing as you go.
- Now add the milk.
- Frost the top of the cake and sprinkle with the crushed peppermint candies.
