Ingredients for Peppermint Twist Cake

  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of softened butter or margarine
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of crushed peppermint candies

Ingredients for Frosting

  • 1/2 cup of butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup of shortening
  • 3 cups of powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of clear vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 1/2 cup of crushed peppermint candies

How to Make Peppermint Twist Cake

  1. Preheat oven to the 350 F.
  2. Grease & flour a 9 inches round pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the sugar and cream until it become creamy smooth.
  4. After that add the eggs slowly and beat them until blended.
  5. Now stir in the peppermint and vanilla extract.
  6. Now in a separate bowl, mix the baking powder, flour, and baking soda. After that add to the wet mixture until the batter is getting smooth.
  7. And then fold the peppermint candies into the mixture.
  8. Now Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake in 350 F oven temperature for 30 to 35 minutes.
  9. After that you can cool the cake in pan.

Directions for Frosting

  1. Mix the shortening, sugar, and butter until it become creamy smooth.
  2. And then add vanilla and mix them properly.
  3. Add the powdered sugar, mixing as you go.
  4. Now add the milk.
  5. Frost the top of the cake and sprinkle with the crushed peppermint candies.
