Praline Cake Recipe
Hello friends, welcome to Smooth Recipe. Today we are going to make Praline Cake which has a tender and moist cake with too much of chocolate flavors topped with the praline icing of chopped walnuts or pecans.
This Praline Cake is very easy to bake in a large pan and can also be cut in square shapes and served at a potluck. So friends, let’s start making this delicious cake right now.
Ingredients for Praline Cake
- 1-1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
- 2 cups of brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 cup of milk
- 1-1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
Ingredients for Topping (optional)
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of chopped nuts
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
How to Make Praline Cake
- Preheat oven to the 350 F.
- Grease & flour a tube or Bundt pan.
- Mix brown sugar and butter until it becomes creamy.
- Beat eggs in a separate bowl. And slowly add them to the brown sugar and butter mixture. Mix them well.
- Now in a large bowl, baking powder, mix flour, and baking soda. Combine them all with the wet mixture. Mix them well.
- After that add vanilla in it and mix well.
- Now fold in the pecans.
- Pour the batter into the pan & bake in 350 F oven heat for approximately 60-65 minutes.
- After the 60 minutes time, remove it from oven and cool it before turning out onto a cake platter.
Directions for Topping
- Melt the butter in a saucepan.
- After that add brown sugar & stir on medium heat until the mixture become creamy and smooth.
- Add the chopped vanilla and nuts.
- Now remove from the heat & allow it to slightly thicken.
- After that drizzle over the cake.
