Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Hello friends, welcome to Smooth Recipe. Today we are going to make Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup.

This slow cooker soup is very rich and creamy soup and a great favorite of mine and my family. It may be cooked in a slow cooker or on the stove. Garnish with the chives, if you desired or with any other ingredient which you like to.

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

  • 6 slices bacon, cut them into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans of condensed chicken broth
  • 5 large diced potatoes
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of dried dill weed
  • 2 cups of water
  • ½ teaspoon of ground white pepper
  • ½ cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of half-and-half cream
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can of evaporated milk

How to Make Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

  1. First of all, place the bacon and onion in a large, deep skillet. Cook over the medium-high heat until the bacon is evenly brown in color and onions are soft. Drain off the excess grease.
  2. After that transfer the bacon & onion to a slow cooker, and stir in the chicken broth, water, salt, dill weed, potatoes, and white pepper. Cover, and cook on Low 6-7 hours, stirring it occasionally.
  3. In the end, in a small bowl, whisk together the flour & half-and-half. Stir into the soup along with the evaporated milk. Cover, and cook it for another 30 minutes before serving.
